Three Boo Baskets filled with various treats, candy & goodies from Artful Life Designs.

Boo Baskets are such a fun way to celebrate Halloween — and they don’t have to be just for neighbors! If you’d rather keep things cozy, you can start the tradition right inside your own home. Surprise your kids, grandkids, or spouse with a basket full of spooky treats, cozy fall goodies, or pampering little gifts.

Of course, you can still play the classic neighborhood version too. Traditionally, families secretly drop a Boo Basket on a neighbor’s porch including extra tags and instructions. The neighbor then passes it on by Booing another family, until the whole street is filled with Halloween cheer.

I put together Boo Baskets this year for our adult kids & grandkids, and they turned out so cute! I filled them with little fall surprises and made a coordinating Boo Basket printable set to share — you can grab it free below.

You can mix and match ideas to fit anyone’s personality — from playful to cozy or pampering. For my Boo Baskets, I had a great time shopping at our local specialty shops, farmer’s market, and seasonal craft shows to find unique items — but I also used Dollar Store finds for the baskets and small goodies.

Boo basket treats including trail mix, yummy snack, facial masks, handmade soaps & cozy socks.

I made some yummy trail mix for the hunters in our family who need snacks while sitting in their shooting shacks or stands. It's so fun to add special touches to each basket to match the recipient. Halloween is all about having a little fun and sharing the spirit of the season — and a well-curated Boo Basket is the perfect way to do it!

Here's a spread of some basket goodies before assembly.
